Hanging on for Dear Life
Hanging on for Dear Life was inspired by my trip to Friends of the National Parks Foundation in the deep jungles of Borneo. The exquisite beauty and vulnerability shining from the eyes of this baby orang-utan shows just how deeply human and sentient they truly are. We are now at cross-roads with their survival. Do we keep burning down their forest homes for palm-oil and live on a soulless planet with no animal life or do we save them to keep biodiverse ecosystems thriving that in the end keep us alive?
This artwork was selected for the 2012 Art of Conservation- An International Exhibit of Nature in Art Virtual exhibit with companion hard cover coffee table book.
