A Little Bit Shy
10% of proceeds have been donated to the Australian Koala Foundation from the sale of the original artwrok as well as from limited edition print sales.
Taronga zoo was about to close but I thought I'd quickly take one more walk around the koala enclosue and I saw this shy looking koala bathed by the late afternoon sun.
Koalas are losing significant amounts of habitat due to human habitation and logging. Many years ago koalas lived at Avalon, a few suburbs from where I live on Sydney's northern beaches. Even in the 1970's there were an estimated 123 individuals, then a population decline of an estimated six individuals in 1993. Now there are none left.
