Although not listed as endangered, the Plains Zebra, like all African big game, are severely threatened by loss of habitat making them vulnerable to stress, disease and predators. I painted this beautiful animal in the closing light of day to enhance the ethereal nature of his stripes and give the white a silver glow. How unique and treasured are all the species. We owe them our appreciation and the space to exist.
