I was thrilled to see my latest article, about teaching art on a cruise ship, featured in Art + Framing Today magazine, published by the Fine Art Trade Guild.  Our cruise on Fred Olsen Cruise Lines MV Boudicca, to Iceland, Greenland and the Orkney Islands was truly magical.  As a wildlife artist it is wonderful to visit remote areas of the world; to experience the wonders of the natural world.Follow www.annecorlessartjourneys

From time to time I enjoy spending time as Resident Artist on the Afternoon Show with Presenter John Gillmore (Gilly) at BBC Radio Lancashire, here in the UK.  We talk about all things art and I usually teach him some art techniques...great fun!  Here we are after a show in 2018!  I hope our artistic ventures and discussions on the show encourage everyone to have a go at art!

Working as Artist in Residence is a fun thing to do and one of my favourite venues over the years has been Derwent's "magical" Pencil Museum in the Lake District (UK).  Situated in the beautiful town of Keswick, the Pencil Museum welcomes visitors from all over the world.  As Artist in Residence I demonstrate and teach visitors how to use the Derwent art products and show them the potential of all the different media.  Here I am in the Pencil Museum with the world's largest colour pencil!www.annecorless.com

Situated in the Tyrrhenian Sea, part of the Mediterranean Sea off the coat of Italy, Capri beckons visitors to its idyllic shores.  The island features in this photograph, taken from the deck of MV Boudicca (Fred Olsen Cruise Lines).  The light was extraordinary as it highlighted the island.  We enjoyed the luxury of the shops and cafes in the narrow streets of Capri town but the island also offers remote areas of natural beauty; coves, rocky outcrops and mountains, including Mount Solaro.  A magical place to visit...and hopefully to return to, one day.www....

On our boat trip out to Gjesvaertappen Nature Reserve in Norway, in the summer of 2015, we were accompanied by thousands of puffins.  As we were unable to land on this island, a protected bird sanctuary, we sailed around its rocky shores escorted seemingly by many of the 50,000 puffins that arrive each year, as they flapped frantically just above the choppy waters, dodging waves.  Overhead white tailed eagles soared high with an occasional low swoop. Our captain spotted so many different birds I lost track...but bravely held on to my rather damp sketchbook as I tried...
