Born Free Foundation ~ Lions of Lyon

Special Edition Giclee Prints
Summary
Edit Conservation Project/Cause Born Free Foundation ~ Lions of Lyon - Special Edition Giclee Prints | Kay Middleton
Purpose/Mission:
A limited edition print run of "Pride and Joy" is being offered to help raise funds for the ongoing care of Born Free's "Lions of Lyon". These 4 lion cubs, now known as the "Lions of Lyon" were each rescued from appalling conditions in France. Following a period of rehabilitation they are now living in Born Free's big cat sanctuary in Africa. Horus, Dadou, Thea and Cersei, believed to have been taken from their mothers before they were weaned, were each found in in different locations across France. They were kept in captive conditions no animal should ever be subjected to – an apartment, a garage, even a Lamborghini on the Champs-Elysées. No doubt part of Europe's trade in wild animals (from circuses, zoos and private keeping), they were sold illegally to be pets before being rescued by French wildlife charity, Fondation 30 Million d’Amis. Though they are now safe, they will need lifetime care due to their early life experiences and I am offering just 25 professionally printed, giclee prints of my artwork "Pride and Joy", to enable a donation of each sale to help fund their life care. A donation of the sale of the original drawing will also be donated to this project.
