Section added to Kingsbrae Residency (Seeds of Change) Project after Neilson returned home to Forest House studio. Celebrating the first late summer bloom of the dahlias in the back garden.

The Dahlia can symbolize many things, especially inner strength or resilience, and the Ruby Red Dahlia chosen as a gift offering strength, power and positive change. Conditions in the shady suburban garden at the wildland urban interface can be challenging but the Dahlia still grows tall and graceful, a favorite flower with nectar for hummingbirds.
