The Artist

"I try to capture the look, character, feel, texture of an animal and then put all that into an atmosphere that hopefully makes people stop and look closer. Being an Artist I feel I am so fortunate to be able to see the beauty in the world around me in more colour and detail. Unfortunately, this is also true sometimes in seeing the negative impact we are making so I am grateful to be able to share and express through colour, shape and form how I see the splendour in my surroundings. Art is my life, from the moment I wake to when I eventually go to sleep at night. Creating realistic pet portraits, wildlife and landscape paintings in pastels – my main medium, but also watercolour and pen and wash. A pastel artist born in Sussex, UK that mainly works on pet portrait commissions and my own paintings for pure enjoyment in between. With a passion for wildlife, I presently paint mostly pet portraits and of those, mostly dogs. Although I am involved in painting a series of commissions of very large Carp for a gentleman that has a fishing lake in France!
