During a past trip to Maine, I observed the Great Egret hunting in a salt marsh near Woolwich. The Egret with its elegant movements and graceful form is a natural icon for wild places. This bird is truly a fine representative for all fresh and saltwater marsh ecosystems that need our constant watch. This painting was juried into the 'The Art of Conservation - 2012 Exhibition' which was held in Vancouver BC., Canada. The original painting is in private collection.
