Biography

My name is Marco Grasso, I’m an Italian artist specialized in wildlife.
I am twenty years old and I currently attend the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy.
When I was thirteen years old I took an art class held by the wildlife artist Tiziana Lerda, and I’ve been painting my favorite animals and landscapes ever since.
I am often inspired by my travels, studying the animals I see on field and depicting them as faithfully as I can.
In 2016 I participated in a wildlife art national contest (Oasis – “Disegna la natura”), ranking among the best 40 of all ages.
I am a member of the Italian association for nature art (Aipan) since 2018 and I took part in two of their collective exhibitions in 2019.
The same year I held my first solo show in Cuneo (Italy) in collaboration with Leonardo Dolce.
In 2020 I became a Signature Member of Artists for Conservation.
I’ve been selected for the 2020/21 AFC Live Exhibit Tour, on display in Vancouver, BC and St. Petersburg, Florida.
I’ve been awarded a Medal of Excellence and one of my paintings (Thanatos) has been selected as the cover for the 2021 AFC Environmental Calendar.
