At the eastern end of St. George Island, near Apalachicola, Florida, is a large wilderness area of natural habitat. About a mile into the wilderness sits this old, iconic pine tree. I got their early one morning and completed the painting plein air. Just to the right of this beautiful tree is a large bay. As I was painting, I would watch as fish jumped, hawks circled overhead, and gulls and pelicans dove into the bay to catch their breakfast.
