It was a particularly difficult winter with several ice storms and blizzards. We had both extreme cold and extremely warm temperatures. Between the flooding and freezing, this pair of cardinals are lucky to have made it through the winter. Although cardinals are adaptable and ice storms are beautiful, even cardinals have limits of adaptability. As our climate continues to change and our weather becomes increasingly chaotic, I worry about their future.
