Like so many others, I am captivated and impressed by large raptors. The Martial Eagle is one of the biggest to cruise the skies of much of Africa, and I am always on the lookout for these majestic hunters. They are powerful enough to prey on small antelope like this newborn Thompson Gazelle fawn , and will stand up to jackals and adult antelope to defend their catch. I also enjoy the fact that the female eagle is quite a bit larger than her mate...at 6'3", I can relate!
