Wolves possess certain distinctive ocular characteristics which indicate that they can communicate with other members of their species using their eyes alone. This form of communication is an adaptation that is thought to help them hunt in packs.
The wolf also has been found to have the ability to follow the gaze of others, not only into distant space but also around barriers. So next time you see a wolf, go ahead and gaze into his eyes…he may just be trying to tell you something!
