The Incredible Journey was inspired by seeing loggerhead turtle hatchlings racing towards the sea at Lady Elliot Island on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. It was drawn from references taken there and also the Maldives and Ibiza for the waves and I used over 28 different photos and a splash of my imagination to create the drawing. I especially enjoyed drawing the turtles' shells and the swirling patterns of the foam. This drawing sold for £9,500 (US$13,300) at my last solo show at Mall Galleries, London in April 2016. The exhibition was in aid of two conservation charities, Born Free and the Environmental Investigation Agency. There were 173 limited edition prints and original drawings exhibited and before costs the show raised over £303,000 (US$425,000). The private view evening was attended by over 550 people including Royalty, actors, TV presenters and pop stars. I also published this drawing as a signed and numbered limited edition Giclee print of 225 copies in two sizes. It is available from my website shop.
