I happen to think white pelicans are very beautiful. They range in habitat from Florida, mostly from the central part to the Everglades, and then unbelievably you pick them up again in the West around Yellowstone Park. There is a disparity between how they go about their fishing and that of the brown pelicans. The latter seem to fish alone or in a loose group. The white ones work as an organized group herding the fish together. When we were photographing in the Everglades around ponds, we knew that when the white ones arrived, it wouldn't take long for them to strip the pond of fish with their teamwork.
